Online goes bad (2)
A brother of mine got robbed, his
one month salary was robbed in broad daylight. The modus operandi was simple,
they sent an email saying it was from Maybank, and asking him to update his
account number and the password as well.
So he did as he was instructed. He
typed the account number and the password as well and clicked ‘Send’.
On 25th day of the
month he went to the Bank to with draw some hard earned cash for the month like
everybody else, and you can guess what appeared on the screen when he typed RM
500. ‘Insufficient balance’
That fella did not think twice to
reply to the email, and he did everything online, such as paying bills and
buying pizza.
