Introduction

Hello and Good Day Everybody !
I am a new teacher in the school named Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Datuk Bendahara. This school is situated in Jasin, Melaka.
I am accepted to be one of the Guru Sandaran Terlatih (GST) here. There are 10 of us, my batch joined the schools in 27th June 2011.
In this blog, I share with you my experience and great things that are happening to me in the school.
There are also notes and things for good English class usages, so feel free to browse them whenever there are gaps between classes.
My mentor here is Hajjah Zaorah and she has been guiding me to be a better English teacher.

1.1 b Make friends and keep friendships by introducing oneself,

Learning Objectives       : By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:-
1.     get to know each other from oral and written communication.
2.     get to introduce themselves to their new friends.
Activities  :
  1. Students are greeted and welcomed.
  2. Teacher introduces himself, and his background
  3. Then, the students are given attachment, and they find as many names as they can.
  4. grouped together and they introduce themselves to the class.
  5. Teacher elicits knowledge on what they expect from English class and adds up information. Teacher tells the work to be expected and explains the weekly journals.
  6. Students mention the values learnt and the lesson is concluded.

Learning Outcomes         :
2.1a Obtain information for different purposes by listening to spoken texts such as talks.
2.1 j Process information by making short notes and mapping out ideas

Learning Objectives       : By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:-
1.     link all 5 new words with their meanings.
2.     elaborate 2 out of 5 points in the directed writing exercise.

(Prior to the class, students are given an example of section B, Information Transfer and they find the difficult words, and write down the words in the Vocabulary book )
Activities  :
  1. Students are shown the Directed Writing question, 35 marks and to be done approximately 45 minutes.
  2. The points for the task are elaborated by teacher and students and they find the meaning of the words as the class goes along.
  3. They are given time to elaborate the first point and share their elaborations to the class.
  4. Teacher guides by mentioning the accepted type of elaborations.

Learning Objectives       : By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:-
1.     write down a simple poem that and uses similes to describe the physical traits and other characters of a person,
2.     recite the poem, and
3.     mention 2 values in the poem, and whether they are meaningful to the person’s life.

Activities  :
1.     Teacher recaps previous lesson on similes.
2.     Eliciting information on how do they express their love to someone.
3.     Teacher mentions the connection between human and nature.
4.     Students are demonstrated on a piece of poem recitation..
5.     They recite the poem in front of their partner and their partner acts
