SECTION A : SUMMARY
[ 10 marks ]
Read the passage and complete the following task.
It is a good practice to save money during school
recess time. Here are some tips.
First, bring home-made food to school. During
recess, instead of buying, eat the food you have brought. The money you have
saved can be put for better use.
Bottle your own water. Drinking water is good for
your health. Bottled water is the most convenient since it can provide
protection against accidental spills. That said, buy bottled water only once
in a while, and then reuse that bottle to fill your own water.
Avoid the vending machines. Almost everything that
is dispensed via vending machines has a huge mark-up. However, if you always
feel hungry at school, bring small packets of biscuits.
If you are going to buy food anyway, write down the
food and the price you are paying for. This makes you to keep track of the
food price and any price change
. You will
not be able to see the balance unless you know how much pocket money you
receive your parents give you, and how much money you have spent. So, keep a
book of money-in money-out.
